Bunbury South West Sports Centre
Completed in May 2012, this landmark project was engineered in collaboration with Norman Disney & Young (NDY). It remains one of the largest solar hot water systems in the Southern Hemisphere.
The system comprises:
- 240 evacuated tube panels
- 7,200 evacuated glass tubes
- Solar contribution of 55–60% of annual pool heating demand
Thermal energy is transferred via titanium plate heat exchangers into both the 50-metre indoor pool and leisure pool. Since commissioning, the system has saved approximately $75,000 annually in gas operating costs.
